French toast is one of my favorite breakfast foods! It's especially a good option on a cold snowy day like when I made this recipe.
Lower-carb breads allow for you to enjoy your favorite breakfast treats in a way that will allow you to hit your macros and reach your goals. Instead of using whole eggs, cream, and regular sliced bread, this recipe utilizes egg whites, almond milk, and low-carb bread to make a just-as-tasty recipe!

CALORIES: 269 calories
PROTEIN: 29.2 grams
CARBOHYDRATES: 54.3 grams
FAT: 2.8 grams
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 slices low carb bread
- 80 grams unsweetened almond milk
- 80 grams liquid egg whites
- 15 grams vanilla protein powder of choice
- sugar free pancake syrup
- cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
In a shallow bowl, mix your almond milk and egg whites thoroughly with your protein powder. Using a frother might help well-combine the protein powder within the milk and egg mixture.
Add sugar free syrup, cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt.
In a sprayed pan over medium heat, add your bread after you've soaked both sides in the egg/milk mixture. Don't let soak for long before cooking as the bread is thin and will break apart.
Cook evenly on both sides for about 3 minutes on each side until cooked through.
Assemble: french toast, fresh fruit of choice, nut butter, pancake syrup, etc. Enjoy!
