After being diagnosed with epilepsy about 2 weeks ago, I have made it my mission to address and hopefully put this thing in remission through holistic means, and for epilepsy, that can be done through the ketogenic diet, which means eliminating carbs from your diet in order to increase the amount of ketones in the bloodstream.

It’s been pretty hard for me to adjust to this new diet. Even though I don’t normally eat pasta, bread or lots of carbs, cutting out my sweet potatoes and fruit and honey has been difficult, and concocting creative yet simple and delicious meals have been even harder. But now that I’ve found @egglifefoods keto and high protein wraps, lunch has gotten even easier! 🙌🏻

I normally top these wraps with some fresh deli sliced turkey and cheese but today I decided to get super creative and make homemade cheesesteak wraps with fresh roast beef, freshly grated sharp cheddar, and of course all the fixings, like lettuce and tomato 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

The macros on this thing were ridiculous and anabolic, coming in around 314 calories (42 grams of protein, 15.3 grams of fat, and about 2 grams of carbs). L I T E R A L L Y going to be making this for lunch on repeat now because it’s sooo tasty, high-protein, filling, low-carb, and easy! 🥩🧀🥓🫓😇😋😻🤩😎

MACROS:

CALORIES: 314 CALORIES

PROTEIN: 42 GRAMS

CARBOHYDRATES: 2 GRAMS

FAT: 15.3 GRAMS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 egglife wraps (0 carbs!)

  • 4 ounces medium rare freshly sliced roasted beef

  • 32 grams freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • toppings: lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Get 4 ounces of roast beef and slice into small chunks.

  2. It is optional to add onion to your roast beef. I didn't because I took the lazy way out but I love adding some chopped onion to my oil before adding the roast beef. If you want, grease your pan and once its hot, add some chopped onion here and saute for about 1-2 minutes.

  3. In a greased pan over medium heat, add your roast beef chunks and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let cook until fully heated through.

  4. You don't want your beef tough or overcooked, but just warmed through. When it's about fully warmed through, turn your heat down to a simmer, add your cheese, add a drop of water to the pan, and quickly cover with a lid.

  5. After about a minute, turn your heat completely off and let the cheese continue to melt over the meat.

  6. Now, time to plate: egg white wraps, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers or other toppings of choice, and finally your hot, gooey cheesesteak mix! Serve and enjoy :)
