This one might sound random and not as appetizing but I promise you this will not only fill you up, but it will make your inner child ecstatic. I've been seeing recipes on TikTok about ground chicken nuggets in the air fryer, and I typically do not buy ground chicken. But I always have ground turkey in my freezer, so I took advantage of it! I get tired of always making turkey tacos or turkey burgers, so I tried this out and I am so glad I did.
Feel free to customize this meal as always, adding egg or breadcrumbs to your turkey. But I did not add either and the nuggets stayed perfect in the air fryer, cooked evenly, and got super crispy!

MACROS (does not include side of edamame):
CALORIES: 474 calories
PROTEIN: 52.4 grams
CARBOHYDRATES: 36.5 grams
FAT: 14.3 grams
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 ounces 99% lean ground turkey
- 14 grams reduced fat shredded cheese of choice
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 168 grams frozen Ore-Ida golden french fries
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees for 3 minutes.
Measure out your fries and season to your liking: I added salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
Throw french fries in a sprayed air fryer and toss and cook for 10 minutes.
While the french fries are cooking, let's move onto the turkey nuggets. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and a dollop of ketchup into the meat and mix thoroughly. Add your shredded cheese in the turkey and mix again to ensure the cheese is well-incorporated.
Wet your hands and form your turkey into little nugget shapes.
When the fries are done, spray the air fryer basket again and place your nuggets down.
I cooked them for 7 minutes at 400 and checked the internal temperature with my digital meat thermometer. Every air fryer is different, so just check with the thermometer for accuracy.
Serve with seasoned fries, vegetable or legume of choice, and some ketchup for dipping and enjoy! I served mine with some edamame for extra protein!
I really really enjoyed this meal more than I thought I was going to, and I was actually full. One of the keys to weight loss is eating as much possible for as little calories as possible, and a meal like this makes that totally possible. It was only 180 calories for all of those fries (and I even stole some off the plate before I took that picture)! Lean ground turkey is often underrated but can be transformed into a very delicious and satisfying meal that you won't get tired of.
